Deel mappen en agenda's in Outlook zonder Exchange® Server.

Outlook®, het mail- en agendaprogramma van Microsoft Office®, biedt veel meer mogelijkheden dan het gratis met Internet Explorer meegeleverde Outlook Express. Deze meerwaarde komt pas echt goed tot zijn recht in een netwerkomgeving, bij het delen van mappen en agenda's. Om hiervan gebruik te kunnen maken is echter ook een server met Microsoft Exchange® nodig. Het programma Public Outlook probeert een aantal functies nu ook beschikbaar te maken zónder Exchange Server.

Het betreft een client-server oplossing voor kleine organisaties die gebruik maken van stand-alone versies van Microsoft Outlook®. Public ShareFolder zorgt via een centraal opgeslagen gemeenschappelijk gegevensbestand dat verschillende gebruikers toegang hebben tot dezelfde e-mail, agenda, contactpersonen en dergelijke.
